NDMA is a research, publishing, and consulting firm focused exclusively on organizational design. It is based on the consulting practice of Dean Meyer.

Specialty

NDMA helps leaders "re-program" the systems within organizations that guide people's decisions and actions.

Systems include: culture, structure, work flows, and resource-governance processes including activity-based budgeting.

Just as business-strategy consultants should specialize in industries and business-process consultants should specialize in functional areas, organization design experts should not. NDMA specializes in organizational dynamics, the systems inside organizations that affect every functional area or industry.

What NDMA Brings

In each topic area, NDMA combines four things:

* Visionary thinking about high-performance organizations based on the "business-within-a-business" paradigm.

In some cases, Dean Meyer is employed as an executive coach -- either a day here and there as needed, or on a regular schedule.

Other organizations ask Dean to facilitate two-day executive retreats to decide organizational questions or plan leadership initiatives.

Dean's primary work is facilitating systemic change processes.

NDMA's intellectual capital is also packaged in publications, and in comprehensive studies (available under license).

Dean is also a speaker at conferences and associations.

Style

When facilitating change, NDMA's role is to teach and facilitate, not study and prescribe (as with the traditional, but less effective, consulting model).

This participative approach ensures that all decisions are made by your leadership team, tapping their inside knowledge while building the understanding and commitment that's necessary for effective implementation.

This approach is highly cost effective, allowing Dean to personally facilitate significant change processes for the price of one typical consulting "study."

Participation also builds clients' self-sufficiency. In short, NDMA works itself out of a job as quickly as possible.
