Great People Aren't Enough:
great leaders design healthy organizations where normal people can succeed
Abstract
Some leaders believe that all it takes to succeed is to hire great people. While great people certainly enhance an organization's performance, the truth is that people come in bell-curves, and an organization that depends on all superachievers is extremely fragile.
In fact, great people in a bad organization may survive, but normal people in a great organization will succeed.
This session explains how organizations make or break people's performance, and what leaders can do to build healthy organizations in which everyone can succeed.
Outline

* How organizations make or break people's performance
